Plantation & Crop Management
Our forestry professionals were instrumental in developing silvicultural systems and the breeding and domestication of suitable species for hardwood plantations. This expertise has been employed in the establishment of 10,000 ha of hardwood plantations in Queensland and throughout Australia.
Elements of the silvicultural system include site clean-up methods that conserve soil carbon, cultivation methods that conserve soil moisture and reduce erosion risks, weed control approaches that minimize chemical herbicide use and planting techniques that maximise survival and minimise manual labour inputs. Our technical cropping expertise includes land preparation, cropping management and harvesting.
Irrigation System Design & Construction
We design, construct, operate and maintain water amendment plant and associated irrigation infrastructure to receive, amend and distribute CSG water in accordance with EPA regulations.
Operationally, our water management solution takes control of by-product water from the point of the outflow manifold and manages it to the point of release. Water is amended to a standard consistent with the Australian and New Zealand Environment and Conservation Council (ANZECC) Guidelines for irrigation quality water. The large volumes of CSG water equate to irrigation on a large scale involving significant capital investment requiring the highest standards of design, construction, operability and accountability from the economic, financial and environmental perspectives.
Proven experience in system design and construction is paramount. The design process incorporates industry best practice standards for operational safety, reliability, risk management, HAZOPS analysis and environmental management to deliver a system that is compliant with and complimentary to CSG operations.
A collaborative approach commencing at the scoping stage is a critical aspect of developing solutions that offer seamless integration in the operational environment. A sophisticated SCADA platform provides operational and supervisory control of the entire system and interfaces with existing control systems.
Our Irrigation capabilities include:
- CAD irrigation design using state-of-the-art industry-specific software.
- High resolution GPS survey for mapping and production of as-constructed drawings.
- Certified irrigation design in drip, micro, spray and other irrigation methodologies.
- Fusion welding of polyethylene pipelines to DN630mm.
- Excavation and trenching with trenchers, articulated wheeled excavators and skid steer excavators.
- Design, supply and fabrication of pump sets including fire-pumps to AS2941.
- Design, supply and installation and configuration of SCADA and PLC systems
- Electrical panel design and fabrication to Australian Standards including variable frequency drives and PLC instrumentation.
- Dynamic pump wet testing and proof of performance facilities.
- Full pump servicing facilities including testing and rebuild of all major brands.
- Design, supply and erection of centre-pivot and linear move irrigators.
- Design, supply and installation of fixed sprinkler systems.
- Specification, supply, installation and servicing of submersible pumps for all applications.
- Design, supply and installation of liquid and dry material dosing systems.
- Design, supply and installation of specialised acid dosing systems.
- Design, supply and installation of water treatment systems, including chlorination, bromination, water softener and UV purification systems.
- Design, supply and installation of manual and automatic filtration systems, including disc, screen, media, cyclonic and membrane filtration.
